THANKSGIVING!

new

(November 25th, 2025) Conveniently Scot had to stain the window frames on the new windows which made it too smelly to be in the house for a few days. Ann moved in the entire time to help out with Thanksgiving prep and Scot spent a couple of nights when the stain was applied. We had a pretty good crowd for our first Thanksgiving in the new home while the Valice's hit the Coast, Matt and family went to the Byrd's and the Evans went to Palm Springs on the way to Arizona. KITTEN'S GET NEUTERED!

(November 16th, 2025) The day has come, the kittens are now old enough and the day of surgery is tommorow. They obviously don't realize it as the one cat sleeps comfortly on Kathy's lap. All went well the first day as they were groggy from the drugs. We built them a temporary two room prison and with their cones on headed into a 10 day recovery. moving around with the cones was hard enough, but eating and drinking was even harder. Jeff bought them some jump suits so they couldn't get at their wounds and removed the cones. Click on photo for more pictures and what happened!

SH*# HAPPENS!

new

(November 13th, 2025) Jeff, Kathy and I were watching Notre Dame football comfortably on the third level while it was pouring rain outside. Kathy kept hearing a dripping sound and noticing a pool of water on the wood floor, she had me pull the curtain open revealing a leak right above the window. With a bucket catching the drops the rest of the night, we hoped for a break in the weather to be able to repair it the next day. Even though it was still raining and leaking in the morning, the weather showed a 2 hour gap between storms. Lucky me, I was voted to again go on the roof while Kathy and Jeff were my safety crew. Finished repairs just as rain began again. Next we had Scot Brown call and to tell me they had no water and I was voted to help him pull his well pump as we did last year. Sadly, we again didn't need to do that as it was an electrical issue again! Finally, Kathy and I were on our way to her Dr appointment in Reno when as we are coming into Truckee, CA the truck suddenly threw a code and message that said "Service ESC" and "Engine power degraded". We were regulated to 35 miles and hour as we limped into Truckee. Towed it all the way to the school below our home and limped it up to the house with all the codes still there. Two days later making room for Thanksgiving parking, I started the truck and all codes were gone! Drove it for 10 miles with no issues. Hmmmmm. Click on photo for more pictures!

DOCTOR RELEASES KATHY, WALKS DOWN TO FIRST LEVEL FIRST TIME IN A MONTH, CATHY WITH A "C" VISITS, GEESE VISIT!

(November 6th, 2025) Kathy had xrays done of her new knee and after her Dr saw them and her, he released her as far as they are concerned. She also went down to the first level of the house for the first time in over a month. Jeff and I knew that time was coming soon so had been keeping it kind of clean expecting her inspection. Cathy, the previous owner of the home dropped off a pattern for our shower curtain and to see the changes we have made to her old home. Geese have stopped by to visit also on their way South for the second time in a week. Click on photo for more pictures!
