VALICE CONSTRUCTION, BROWN LANDSCAPING, SWISS FAMILY AND BACK TO VERDI!

(July 25th, 2023) Scot and I worked on the retaining wall the last few days of our stay at their home. He since has basically finished except for any plants to be planted. Took Mom and Tiva over to the Valice home to see their construction progress along with Jeff and Tracy. We then followed the Hutson's over to their home and toured it. Reggie and Lorenz sent pictures of my 3rd cousins Simone and Christians farmhouse in Lake of Thun, Switzerland. Kathy and I are now back in Verdi. Click on photo for more pictures.

PAVERS!

new

(July 16th, 2023) After finishing laying, leveling and compacting 3 inches of base rock it was time to lay the sand and pavers. Scot did most of the sand work while I went behind him and laid the pavers. Sometimes it took 2 or 3 times to get each paver level and that meant re-picking up the 40lb paver with minimal disturbance of the sand, re-leveling and trying again! We got pretty good by the 100th paver or so. Click on photo for more pictures.

4TH OF JULY AND FIRST ANNUAL CORNHOLIO - PONGAPALOOZA GAMES!

(July 4th, 2023) Maybe one of the first annual, but it was fun. 8 players were picked and matched randomly by numbers picked out of a hat. They were then matched up only by their numbers in the first round and you had one chance at ping pong and one chance at corn hole. 5 dollar buy in for the pot and 15 minutes or first to 11 for corn hole and 15 minutes or first to 21 in ping pong. After that if you won in either catergory, you moved to the second round and the loser was out. Jamie is known for his corn hole skills and Jill for her ping pong skills so we assumed that would be the outcome but, as you can see by the picture only half of that was correct!. Thank you Jenna for taking most of the pictures even though you were a contestant! Click on photo for more pictures.

TEXAS VISITORS!

new

(July 2nd, 2023) Jenna, Janie, Arrow and Havyn joined Scot, Ann, Jeff, Kathy and I for the Forth of July weekend here in Newcastle. Temperatures in the 100's so lots of pool action. Took a trip over to the Valices to check on progress of their construction. Click on photo for more pictures.
