Seth Chapman born in Canada in 1836, moved from there with his parents to Illinois in 1839, came to

California in 1859 and to Colusa County in 1861.  Seth sold ranch to O'Sullivan's after 1882, moved to

Crescent City.

2.  ANGELINE2 CHAPMAN (WILLIAM1) was born October 29, 1831, and died January 31, 1879 in Colusa, CA buried in Colusa Cemetery, Wilson Road.  She married (1) D. W. WILSON.    She married (2) ISSAC ELLIOTT January 07, 1857 in Ogle County, Illinois. 

 

Notes for ANGELINE CHAPMAN:

This marriage is recorded in IRAD, Book C, Page 881, License #1765. Angeline is mentioned in the November 3, 1849 letter from Mary E. Chapman to Julia A. Laird. In the February 12, 1850 letter from Mary E. Chapman to Julia A. Laird, Mary says Angeline is soon to be married to a Mr. Hutton, but there is no record of the marriage in IRAD. It is unknown if she did indeed marry him.

3.  ALICE3 ELLIOTT (ANGELINE2 CHAPMAN, WILLIAM1) was born May 15, 1860 in Illinois, and died 1945.  She married (1) MIKE RYAN May 14, 1876 in Colusa, son of LAVERNE.  He was born 1843 in Ireland, and died November 11, 1879.  She married (2) JOHN MCCANN August 1880.

Don Ryan served on the USS Bowditch in WW2 and spent most of his working years with Pacific Bell in Sacramento, CA.  He was a man of many talents.
